Manufacturing Ductworks 1 R. Gomeseria, ARCADIS/Hyder Consulting As project supervisor, to install correctly and systematically the ductworks, I will make first the ducting cutting lists. This is a list of duct portions such as straight ducts (1.2 m nominal length), number of spools (straight ducts with less than 1.2 m nominal length), number of duct fittings (elbows, wyes, offsets, transitions, collars, volume dampers, etc.). And each of these duct portions has designated tagging reflected on the ducting layout to determine easily where the particular portion belongs. What I usually use as references in ductworks design/fabrication are the following: CARRIER Handbook Part 2 Chapter 2 & 3; SMACNA HVAC Duct Construction and SMACNA HVAC System Duct Design; and the ASHRAE Fundamentals Handbook Duct Design Chapter. * Feel free to comment - open to learn from others. ü
